More than 90 insurgents killed or wounded during fresh operations

Afghan forces during their fresh operations to cleanup country form militants have at least killed 59 armed insurgents and wounded 35 others, ministry of defense said.

Afghan ministry of defense in a statement updating daily military operations of Afghan forces said, these forces have conducted a number of operations in 10 of 34 Afghan provinces in the 24 hours, that during which, at least 59 armed insurgents were killed and 35 others were wounded.

The statement brief described the fresh operations of Afghan forces as follows:

In the operations conducted in Nawa and Deh-Yak districts of Ghazni province, 14 Taliban-linked insurgents were killed, 18 others were wounded and 5 of them were arrested.

During the operations conducted in Khan-Abad, Imam Saheb and Ali –Abad districts of northern Kunduz province, 43 Taliban insurgents including three group commanders of the insurgents were killed and 15 others were wounded.

In Shinkai district of southern Zabul province, 2 armed militants were killed and 2 others were wounded.

No insurgent groups including Taliban have made comments on the report.

Afghan ministry of defense adds in its statement that during these fresh operation, 13 Afghan national army soldiers suffered martyrdom.
