Afghan Security Forces conducted several joint military operations in a number of provinces including Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Kandahar, Zabul, Farah, Balkh, Jowzjan, Kunduz, Badakhshan and Helmand that during which scores of isurgents were killed or wounded; Afghan ministry of defense said in a statement giving update of the forces’ daily operations.
Ministry of defense in its statement gave a rough details of the updated operations as follows:
In the operations coducted in Andar, Nave and Ghara Bagh districts of Ghazni, a number of armed insurgents including a Pakistani military General by the name of Kamran were killed, and a depot along with 35 units of Motor Sycle and vehicles were destroyed.
In the operations conducted in Nowbahar district of Zabul, 30 insurgents were killed and 10 others were wounded.
In Ghush Tappa district of Jowzjan, 18 Taliban linked insurgents were killed and 2 other were wounded.
During the operations launched in Marja, Garmsir and KhanNeshin districts of Helmand, 24 armed insurgents were killed.
Moreover, during the cleanup operations conducted jointly by Afghan National Army and National Police in Chimtal district of Balkh, 5 Taliban insurgents including their commander named Mullah Nasrullah were killed. In Bala Buluk and Posht-e-Rud districts of Farah, 6 insurgents were killed and 2 other were wounded.
In operations launched in PachiruAgam district of Nangarhar, 6 Taliban insurgents were killed and 1 other was wounded. And finally, in operations conducted in Sayed Abad district of Maidan Wardak, 3 armed insurgents were killed and 1 other was wounded.
Afghan Ministry of Defense in its press release also adds during these operations conducted to ensure saftey of Afghan people, 3 Afghan National Army soldiers suffered martyrdom.
