Afghan forces kill 68 insurgents in their newest military raids

Afghan security forces in their newest military raids have killed at least 68 armed insurgents during past 24 hours.

They have also wounded 31 insurgents and detained 7 others during the same period, Afghan ministry of defense said in a statement.

According to ministry of defense, Afghan security forces launched several counter-insurgency operations in a number of provinces including Nangarhar, Ghazni, Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kandahar, Oruzgan, Zabul, Farah, Jowzjan, Kunduz, Badakhshan and Helmand that during which, 68 insurgents were killed, 31 others were wounded and also 7 more were detained.

The statement released by ministry of defense described the details of the recent operations as follows:

The operations launched in Sangin, Nadi Ali and Garmsir districts of Helmand province left 49 Taliban insurgents killed and wounded 14 others.

During the operations that took place in Posht-e-Rud and Bala Buluk districts of Farah province, 6 armed militants were killed, 4 others were wounded and 2 vehicles of the insurgents were destrpyed.

In Andar district of Ghazni province, 7 armed insurgnets were killed and 11 others were wounded.

Moreover, during the cleanup operations launched by National Army and National Police in several districts including Khogiani and Deh Bala districts of Nangarhar, Sabri district of Khost, Khas Oruzgan district of Oruzgan and Shah Joy district of Zabul, 6 armed Taliban insurgents were killed, 2 others were wounded and 11 of these insurgents were detained.

According to Ministry of Defesne, 21 Natioanl Army soldiers have also suffered martyrdom during these recent operations while trying to protect Afghan people.
