Afghan forces kill at least 41 militants in newest military raids

Afghan security forces have killed at least 41 anti-government armed insurgents in their newest military operations in the past 24 hours.

According to ministry of defense, Afghan forces launched cleanup operations in various provinces in the past 24 hours that during which 41 militants were killed and 36 others were wounded and one suspected was arrested.

Mod said in a statement that at least 15 of the militants were killed in Chora and Herawood districts of Uruzgan province and 12 others including a commander of the group were wounded.

The statement further added that 6 militants were killed and 11 others were wounded in an operation in Darqad district of northeastern Takhar province.

At least 3 militants were killed and 2 others were wounded in a separate operation in Dand-e-Shahbuddin district of Baghlan province, MoD said, adding that 4 others were killed and another suspect was held in Kot district of Nangarhar province.

MoD also added that 4 militants were killed and 6 others were wounded in an operation in Nejrab district of eastern Kapisa province.

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
