Afghan Shiite Ulema Council boycotts the election

Afghan Shiite Ulema Council in response to the deadly Sunday attack in west of capital Kabul that killed at least 70 people has boycotted the election.

Afghan Shiite Ulema Council in response to the growing insecurity throughout the country and specifically in response to the Sunday deadly suicide attack on a voter registration center in west of Kabul city has urged people not to go for registration of their names in voter registration centers unless the security of the people is provided.

The council has blamed the government for failure to provide the security of the people and asked people not to go to the voter registration centers unless the government provides the security.

A suicide bomber struck a voter registration center in west of capital Kabul on Sunday morning that martyred at least 70 people and wounded at least 120 others.

ISIS has claimed responsibility for the attack saying it targeted a Shiite gathering.
