Afghanistan defeat Zimbabwe in 4th ODI match by three wickets

The Afghanistan national cricket team defeated Zimbabwe by three wickets during their fourth One Day International (ODI) match, once again levelling the series after Afghanistan lost the third ODI on Tuesday.

Zimbabwe set a target of 185 runs from 50 overs after winning the toss and electing to bat first, losing eight wickets.

However, the Afghan batsmen managed to chase the given target with a brilliant opening by Noor Ali Zadran, scoring 26 runs and Mohammad Shahzad who scored 80 runs from 81 balls and by hitting 7 fours and 3 sixes.

With today’s ODI match, levelling the series 2-2, Afghanistan will face Zimbabwe during the final match of the ODI series on Saturday, 24th October.

Mohammad Nabi was caught out after scoring 12 runs along with Nawroz Mangal who scored only 6 runs, Samiullah Shenwari 10 runs, Shafiqullah 4 runs, Asghar Stanikzai 32 runs but Rashid Khan remained not out by scoring 9 runs along with Mirwais Ashraf who scored no runs.

On the bowling side, Dawlat Zadran managed to take 3 wickets from 9 overs, Rashid Khan took 2 wickets and Mohammad Nabi took one wicket along with Amir Hamza.

Zimbabwe won the opening match of the ODI series on Friday by defeating Afghanistan by 8 wickets but the series of levelled during the second match which was won by Afghanistan by runs.
