Air strike by foreign forces in Logar killed 1 Afghan police

One member of Afghan Local Police was killed in an airstrike by foreign forces in central Logar province on Saturday night, an official said on Sunday.

The strike targeted a security post less than one kilometre from the provincial police headquater in Logar capital Pul-i-Alam, said Shapoor Ahmadzai, a spokesman for provincial police.

Three more police were wounded in the raid, the official said.

According to Ahmadzai, the raid happened without coordination with local authorities. He said that the aircraft had flown from Bagram airbase.

The post was completely destroyed in the raid, Ahmadzai said.
