At least 80 insurgents killed during fresh security forces’ operations

Afghan Security Forces killed 79 armed insurgents in their routine cleanup operations in the past 24 hours, according to the Interior Ministry.

The joint operations were launched by Afghan security forces in the relevant areas of Nangarhar, Kapisa, Takhar, Kunduz, Badakhshan, Kandahar, Zabul, Oruzgan, Ghazni, Paktia, Farah, Herat and Helmand provinces, Afghan interior ministry said in a statement.

The ministry added that during the cleanup operations, 79 armed insurgents were killed, 17 wounded and five other insurgents were arrested by Afghan Security Forces,

The Statement further adds some heavy and light ammunitions were seized by Afghan Forces following the operations.

Afghanistan Ministry of Interior appreciates Afghan Security Forces’ cleanup operations toward eliminating insurgents’ sanctuaries and called it a good step toward security and stability in the country.
