Ecuadorian FM seek Afghanistan’s support for her candidacy

Ecuadorian Foreign Minister Maria Fernanda has sought Afghanistan’s support for her candidacy for chairwomanship of the United Nations General Assembly session.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Sunday, during a meeting in Baku, Maria Fernanda asked Foreign Minister Salahuddin Rabbani for Afghanistan’s backing of her bid. Pajhowak news reported.

A statement from the ministry said both sides discussed bolstering bilateral relations in different fields such as politics, economy and culture.

Rabbani also met his Venezuelan counterpart on the sidelines of the NAM foreign ministerial meeting. They agreed on further cementing ties between the two countries.

He also met Bangladesh state governor on foreign affairs. They exchanged views on good relations and the recent visit of the deputy foreign minister of Bangladesh to Kabul.
