Reports suggests insurgents raided the house of the former chief of Khas Oruzgon district Juma Khan last night and kidnapped him, then he was taken to an unknown place.
Spokesman for the police headquarters of Uruzgon, Noor Agha Kamran, said the former district chief was taken last night and was found hanged to a tree in Kala Khor area of Khas Uruzgon district.
He furthered that the security forces have been sent to the crime scene for investigation and to receive the dead body.
No one or group have yet to the take the responsibility so far, but it is widely suspected Taliban insurgents might claim.
Uruzgon bordering Kandahar is one of the insecure provinces, where Taliban are active and carry their attacks against civilians and security forces.
