“Foreign tourists had come to Afghanistan for mysterious aims”

Taliban local insurgents claimed responsibility for attack on foreigner tourists in western Herat province, saying they had secret plans by entering Afghanistan.

A convoy of foreigner tourists on Thursday around 11:00 local time came under militants’ rocket attack in Chesht-e-Sharif district of western Herat province.

 

Six tourists including an Afghan driver were wounded as a result.

 

Qari Yousuf Ahmadi claims to be Taliban’s spokesman in a text message to media claimed responsibility for the attack and said they (tourists) had some mysterious aims by entering Afghanistan.

 

The six tourists including an Afghan driver were injured when a militants’ rocket struck one of the two vans the tourists were travelling with on Thursday around 11:00 local time in Chesht-e-Sharif district of western Herat province, said Najibullah Najibi, a spokesman for Afghan National Army in western zone.

 

Jilani farhad spokesman for Herat’s governor said the tourists were from Germany, Britain and the US.

 

The wounded tourists were among a party of 11 foreigner tourists who had started their journey from central Bamyan province and were heading to western Herat province through Chesht-e-Sharif district when they were attacked.
