Former Pakistani prime minister’s son recovered from Ghazni

Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto announced on Twitter that Ali Haider Gilani, son of former Pakistani prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, has been recovered from Afghanistan’s Ghazni province.

 

He said that Gilani, a senior PPP leader, received a call from the Afghan ambassador to Pakistan, informing him that Ali Haider was recovered in a successful operation in Afghanistan.

Ali Haider, a candidate for the Punjab Assembly, was kidnapped by some unidentified gunmen in Multan on May 9, 2013. According to Daily Times.

Ali Haider was kidnapped when he was leaving a street corner meeting outside the house of a supporter at the Matti Tal Road in Multan’s Farrukh Town. His two associates were killed in the process. At the time of the abduction, Ali Haider was contesting for the general election from PPP-200 constituency in Multan.
