Fresh military operations left 41 armed insurgents killed

Afghan forces’ fresh military operations across the country left at least 41 armed insurgents including 2 ISIL terrorists killed, according to ministry of defense.

Afghan ministry of defense in a statement updating government forces’ routine operations said that the forces launched a number of operations in 18 of 34 provinces that during which at least 41 armed militants were killed and 32 others were wounded.

 

The statement briefed the newest operations as follows:

In the operation conducted in Imam Sahib District of northern Kunduz province, 21 Taliban insurgents were killed and 8 others were wounded.

 

The operation conducted in Char Chino district of central Oruzgan province left 4 militants dead and 12 others wounded.

 

In Pasaband district of central Ghor province, 5 armed insurgents were killed.

 

Two ISIL fighters were also killed in Achin and Dehbala districts of eastern Nangarhar province.

 

Moreover, cleanup operations of Afghan national police and army in Pashton Kot district of northern Faryab province, Posht-e-Rud district of western Farah province, Zarmat district of eastern Paktia province and Nad-e-Ali district of southern Helmand province left 9 Taliban-linked insurgents killed and 12 others wounded.

 

Insurgent groups including Taliban have yet to make comments on the report.

 

Afghan ministry of defense also adds in the statement, that during these new operations, 13 Afghan national army soldiers suffered martyrdom.
