In joint operations, Sixty three insurgents killed

In a joint operation by security forces, 63 Taliban-linked insurgents were killed, while 46 others were wounded. A statement from ministry of interior said.

In joint operations by security forces in Samangan, Takhar, Faryab, Kapisa, Kandahar, Uruzgan, Maydan Wardak, Logar and Paktia provinces, 63 Taliban militants were confirmed dead.

The statement said that 8 other insurgents were also captured, adding that Helmand province is the highest for Taliban insurgents’ casualties.

Scores of arm equipment were also confiscated from Taliban in the operations, Sediq Sediqi, spokesman for the ministry of interior said.

He also added that security forces have implemented 14 joint operations in Kunduz, Takhar, Badakhshan, Sarepul and Faryab provinces, since post-minister’s recent visit to Northern provinces.

Police, National Army and National Security Directorate forces were involved in the operations.
