Insurgents torched a girl’s school in eastern Logar province

A group of unknown insurgents late yesterday set fire to an all-girls school in eastern Logar province, Afghan ministry of education said.

Ministry of Education in a statement said that unknown insurgents in Mohammad Agha district of eastern Logar province torched an all-girl school on late Friday.

The statement added that they also torched belongings and equipment of the school including chairs, books, religious books and students’ documents.

According to the statement, the building of the school was rental and up to 550 girls were studying at it.

Afghan ministry of education has condemned the incident and asked police to identify those guilty and arrest them.

There are up to 64 schools in Mohammad Agha district of Logar province.
