ISIS take responsibility of Jalal-abad suicide attack

ISIS loyalists in an Arabic statement released today claimed responsibility for the suicide attack which took place yesterday in eastern Nangarhar province.

The suicide attack took place yesterday in 6th police district in southern part of Jalal-abad city capital of Nangarhar around two p.m. local time.

The suicide bomber targeted the house of an elder belonged to Pachir Agam district, where there were a number of elders were discussing security issues of the district.

In the statement released by the terror group, the casualties claimed to be 15 dead and a number of others wounded. But local officials say four civilians were killed in the incident and just seven others were wounded.

The terror group in its statement identifies the suicide bomber as Salman Al-Khurasani who targeted Pachir Agam’s elders in Jalal-abad.

The ISIS loyalists have recently increased to their insurgency activities in the remote areas of Nangarhar including in Pachir Agam district.

Nangarhar is located in eastern part of the country where ISIS presence is officially confirmed by officials, but counter-terrorism operation is seriously underway to eliminate the loyalists of the terror group from the province.
