President Ghani:

No one has the authority to interfere in security affairs and appointments

Afghan President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani during a video conference with Lt. Gen. Mohammad Sharif Yaftali said on Sunday that no one is allowed to interfere and middle in security affairs and appointments.

Discussing the security situation in southeastern Afghanistan, President Ghani in a video conference with Lt. Gen. Mohammad Sharif Yaftali who is the commander of 203rd Thunder Corps said that the National Security and Defense Forces have thwarted the enemy’s plans and attacks while defending the country and people with full courage and bravery.

Governors of Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Logar, Ghazni, Wardak and Bamyan provinces were also connected through the video conference with Tawhid Center in ARG where President Ghani said that the Presence of local police has been useful in ensuring security in the southeastern zone, and directed the governors to focus fundamental attention on the recruitment process for further strengthening of the National Army and National Police.

President Ghani also directed the Director General of Independent Directorate of Local Governance who was present at the Tawhid Center to apply the standards for transparency in appointments of civilian officials.

Minister of Interior, acting-Minster of Defense, Director of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Director General of the Office of Administrative Affairs, the President’s Adviser in Political Affairs, National Security Council Deputies, and the President’s Special Military Advisor also attended the meeting over the security and local governance situation in southeastern Afghanistan.
