Pak, Afghan forces’ clashes after the former crossed into Afghanistan

A senior Afghan police official in eastern Khost has confirmed severe clashes broke out between Afghan and Pakistani forces after the latter crossed into Afghanistan.

According to Colonel Abdul Hanan, the acting provincial police chief in the eastern Khost province, the clash broke out earlier today and is currently underway.

Hanan did not confirm reports of the number casualties.

Both Afghanistan and Pakistan have shared a history of hurling accusations at each other for failing to crack down on militants operating along the porous border.

Pakistani sources have claimed at least two of their soldiers have been killed in the incident and some others were wounded.

They also claimed that Pakistani forces were doing their routine surveillance along the border when they were fired upon.
