Pakistani police claim to have identified Lahore bomber

Pakistani Police claim to have identified the alleged suicide bomber who blew himself up in the Gulshan-e-Iqbal Park of Lahore city, leaving at least 69 people killed and more than 300 wounded.  

Police also say they have arrested 15 people including three brothers of the suspected Sunday evening suicide bomber.

They said a CNIC was found from the scene of the crime and it is suspected that it belonged to Muhammad Yousaf Farid, son of Ghulam Farid, a resident of Fateh Sehrani, Basti Baitwala in Muzaffargarh.

According to the card, he was born in January 1. 1988.

The three brothers and a paternal uncle of Yousaf were taken into custody during a raid conducted by the Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) of Pakistan police.

According to preliminary investigation, the bomber had been teaching at a seminary for eight years in Lahore after completing his religious education in Dera Ghazi Khan.

His father, Farid, is a greengrocer. The suspect was out of touch with his family for the last two months. The Counter Terrorism Department is going to take up the case.
