Parliament seeks probe into killing of 3-year old toddler

Kabul police recovered a dead body of a toddler named Muhammad Yunus, in 8th district of Kabul city last week. According to reports, the child was raped and then brutally killed.

Lawmakers called on security organizations to bring the cuprites of the heinous crime to book.

Fawzai Kofi, an MP from Badakhshan province, condemned the killing in the strongest possible terms and urged both security and judicial organizations to probe into in the incident and bring those involved in the killing to justice.

The Lawmakers said that Wolesi Jirga should summon 8th district police chief and police chief of Kabul province.

Kofi blamed police officials of negligence and said that they should be asked that why haven’t they taken action so far.

It is said that father of the slain child is a spaghetti vendor.

Rubaba Parwani, an MP from Kabul, also slammed the brutal killing said that security and judicial organizations should launch a probe into the incident soon.

The Deputy Speaker of Wolesi Jirga, Abdul Zahir Qadir, called on police officials, particularly Kabul Police Chief to bring the culprits to justice.

Ebadullah Karemi, spokesman for the Kabul Police Headquarters, told Afghanistan Times that two persons have been arrested in connection with the case, based on information provided by family of the victim.

Karemi said that they in cooperation with family of the victim have launched a thorough probe into the incident.
