The Pentagon on Sunday identified the Army Green Beret killed a day earlier while fighting in eastern Afghanistan.

Sgt. 1st Class Stephen Cribben, 33, of Simi Valley, Calif., was killed Saturday “as a result of wounds sustained while engaged in combat operations” in Logar Province, according to a Pentagon statement.

He was supporting Operation Freedom’s Sentinel at the time.
