President Ghani appreciates Afghanistan U-19 Cricket team

Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, President of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan met with Afghanistan U-19 cricket team players at the Presidential Palace the other day.

In the meeting, head of Afghanistan cricket board first briefed related to the team’s couch and captain in particular achievements and activities of the team.

The country’s President while congratulating the team’s success in 2015 Premier League competitions conferred state medals of Ghazi Mir Masjidi Khan and certificates of honor to the team players.

Praising officials of the country’s cricket board and national traders for providing financial aids and creating the environment of trust among players, President Ghani lauded merit selection of the team’s players from various parts of the country.

The country’s President while praising the players for their discipline promised that he would provide better facilities and assistance, calling the players as great representatives and ambassadors in sport section of Afghanistan.

For further successes of the country’s U-19 cricket team players, President Ghani hoped that cricket playgrounds of India would be in service of the players based on commitment of the country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The meeting was also attended by the country’s President special envoy on political affairs Dr. Mohammad Akram Khpalwak, advisor to President on legal affairs Dr. Abdul Ali Mohammadi, deputy minister of foreign affairs Hekmat Khalil Karzai and general director of administrative affairs Abdul Salam Rahimi.
