Protestors accused security forces of wounding 4 people in Ghazni

Security forces have been accused of attacking protesters, wounding four demonstrators and setting on fire their tent in south Ghazni province.

The protest erupted after two people including a child were killed by gunmen, who attacked a house in the Sherabad area of Qarabagh district on last Friday.

In reaction to the incident, hundreds of residents of Qarabagh have kept blocked the Kabul-Kandahar highway in their area and capital of the province over the past four days.

Aminullah Ibrahimzai, one of the protestors, said that Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers opened fire at their tent in Haiderabad area late on Monday night.

He said the tent was torched and four protestors were wounded. The injured are currently under treatment at the main hospital, Ibrahimzai added.  According to Pajhwok Afghan News

But Arif Noori, the governor’s spokesman, denied the claims. “Security forces told the protesters that one tent is enough and not to create problems for the people. But they erected more tents which the security forces are removing.”

Protestors warned they would keep the Ghazni-Paktia and Ghazni-Kabul highways closed for traffic until their demands were met.
