Rabbani, Dostum met in Ankara to discuss the political coalition

The leaders of Jamiat-e-Islami and Junbish-e-Millie parties Salahuddin Rabbani and General Abdul Rashid Dostum met in Ankara of Turkey to discuss the future plans regarding the political coalition and upcoming parliamentary and presidential elections.

According to an official statement, the top leaders of the two parties also discussed the latest political and security developments in the country.

This comes as efforts are underway to pave the way for the return of Gen. Dostum from Turkey.

Speaking during a press conference with the Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım last week, the Chief Executive of the Unity Government Abdullah Abdullah said negotiations were made in this regard during his meeting with the Turkish Prime Minister.

Dostum is currently residing in Turkey and is accused of grave human rights violations, including a sexual assault and kidnapping of ex-Jawzjan governor Ahmad Ischi by his guards, a charge which he and his office have repeatedly rejected.
