Abdul Rab Rassoul Sayyaf will mediate between President Ashraf Ghani and Chief Executive Officers (CEO) Dr. Abdullah to solve election differences.
A credible source, speaking on condition of anonymity said Sayyaf, a jihadi leader, would mediate between Ghani and Abdullah in coordination with ex-president Hamid Karzai.
The source said Sayyaf met Abdullah before calling on President Ghani. He discussed with the government leaders ways of patching up the election tiff.
A rift arose between Ghani and Abdullah after the final results of the presidential election were unveiled last week.
The poll panel declared Ghani the winner of the September 28 polls, saying he had been re-elected with 50.64% of votes for a second term in office.
Abdullah, who finished second with 39.52% of votes, contested the result, declared victory and vowed to form a parallel and inclusive government.
Over the past three days, Abdullah has introduced new governors for Sar-i-Pul, Jawzjan, Kapisa and Baghlan provinces.
