Security Forces Eliminates Nearly 200 Militants in 24 Hours

The Afghan National Army (ANA) eliminated a total of 197 militants, including a commander, during military operations in several provinces in the past 24 hours, the Afghan Defense Ministry said Sunday in a statement.

The Afghan Armed Forces also managed to discover and deactivate several dozens of improvised explosive devices, as well as confiscate weapons and ammunition.

“In the last 24 hours, as a result of ANA joint clearance operations, 197 armed insurgents including one commander (Omar) were killed, 70 wounded and 16 were arrested in different districts of Afghanistan,” the statement read.

The operations claimed the lives of 19 servicemen.
