َfter the killing of 4 brothers in Jalalabad city

Stanikzai’s resignation approved

President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has apparently accepted the resignation of Masoom Stanikzai, the intelligence chief of Afghanistan after the killing of 4 brothers in an NDS raid in Jalalabad city.

The Office of the President, ARG Palace, said in a statement said President Ghani called in an extraordinary meeting in response to recent Nangarhar operation and deadly incidents in Kabul.

The statement further added that the resignation of NDS Chief Masoom Stanikzai was approved in the initial minutes of the minute in response to the so-called anti-ISIS operation in Nangarhar in which 4 people lost their lives.

Furthermore, ARG Palace said President Ghani instructed the intelligence officials to identify the involved operatives in the operation and introduce them to Attorney General’s Office.

This comes as the security forces recently conducted a night operation in Jalalabad city of Nangarhar province and killed four brothers during the raid.

The Provincial Government said in a statement that the Special Forces of the 02 Unit conducted the raid in Jalalabad city on Wednesday night.
