Suicide attack leaves 10 killed, wounds 40 in Quetta

At least 10 people were killed and 40 others wounded when a suicide bomber targeted security forces’ vehicles in the capital of Pakistan’s Balochistan province on Saturday.

The Pakistani media reported that the attacker blew himself up near a vehicular convoy of frontier corps (FC) personnel near the Quetta district courts in Manan Square at about 4pm.

Besides a large number of FC men, several civilians, including women and children, suffered casualties in the attack. Pajhwok reported.

Balochistan government spokesman Anwarul Haq said the attacker was on a bicycle and detonated his explosives on approaching the security forces. He said up to 10kg of explosives were used in the blast.

Similar attacks had taken place in Quetta, the capital of Balochistan, where insurgents and separatists have been waging insurgency against the government.
