Taliban replace head of negotiating team

Mawlowi Abdul Hakim is appointed as head of the Taliban’s negotiating team for the upcoming Intra-Afghan talks, according to sources, consisting 21 members.

Zabiullah Mujahid spokesperson to the Taliban, said in a tweet Shir Mohammad Abbas Stanikzai who head group’s political team, has been selected as the deputy.

Meanwhile, Mohammad Naeem Wardak is given the post as the spokesperson for the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, replacing former spokesman Mujahid.

The changes came at a time Afghan negotiating team is preparing to head to Doha for the long-awaited Intra-Afghan Dialogues.
