The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said the Taliban shadow judge Mawlavi Abdul Hakim has made the plea in a letter published among the Taliban fighters in this province, according to Khaama.
The source further adds that a copy of the letter has also been obtained by the armed forces in which Mawlavi Hakim urges the fighters of the group to act as per the Islamic Sharia.
He has also condemned the trial of the people in Kangaroo courts of the militants and has urged Mawlavi Akhundzada to accept the calls for peace, emphasizing that the people have become frustrated with the ongoing violence.
In regards to the desert courts, Mawlavi Hakim has said no one should be tried in such courts without obtaining a directive from the leadership of the group.
The Taliban group has not commented regarding the distribution of the letter by Mawlavi Hakim so far.
This is not the first time such letters are being circulated from the Taliban leaders’ addresses but the group has in the past has rejected such moves as a propaganda aimed at disrupting the activities of the fighters of the group.
