Two Taliban commanders killed in Ghazni clashes

Officials say during recent clashes in Andar district of Ghazni province, two Taliban commanders named Qari Dust and Mahmud were killed by Afghan forces.

Ministry of Interior in a statement said Afghan National Police along with National Army launched yesterday a joint counter-terrorism operation in Andar district of Ghazni province, that during which two Taliban commanders named Qari Dust and Mahmud were killed.

 

Moreover, a number of villages in the district were also cleared of insurgents, according to the statement.

 

Afghan forces also killed 9 other Taliban-linked militants during the operation.

 

Taliban insurgents have yet to make comments on the report so far.

 

The statement adds the killed commanders were key figures in insecurity of Andar district.
