Not being in a proper circumstances, the families have now moved to Almar district of Faryab, Sayad district of Sar-e-pol and to the center of Sar-e-pol province, local officials said.
Taj Mohammad Kuhi, the former governor of Sar-e-pol province says these families are those who had voluntarily risen against Taliban insurgents to help security forces. But with the Taliban capturing the district, they had to abandon their homes and fled to other nearby districts. “No helps have yet come up from the central government or any other related governmental entities for these people” he added.
Mohammad Asef Jabbar Kheil, commander of Sar-e-pol police, has also stressed these families had to abandon their homes, for they have been pro-government militias.
