A senior Taliban commander arrested in Badqhis
Mawlawi Salam, a senior Taliban commander and six other insurgents were captured in a joint security forces operation in western Badghis province, the Ministry of Interior said in a statement.
Six other insurgents were injured during the operation.
The operation was launched in Qadis and Ab Kamari districts of the province in which the forces also seized two motorbikes belonging to the insurgents, the statement said.
However, the statement did not give details about the casualties of security forces during the operation.
The Taliban has not yet commented on the incident.
