Afghan first vice president’s guards sentenced to five-year jail

According to reports, the primary court of the police district of the city has issued a five-year jail term for each seven guards of the first vice president Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum who allegedly involved in torture and sexual abuse of ex-governor Ahmad Khan Ischi.

Sources privy of the development have said the seven security guards of Gen. Dostum were found guilty of the involvement in the torture and abuse of Ishchi by the primary court of the police district of the city.

According to the sources, the court concluded its decision three days ago, but comment has yet to come from the office of the first vice president regarding the reports.

Gen. Dostum is currently in Turkey amid some reports suggesting he is banned from entering the country; something Afghan officials and his office deny.

In a recent political move, Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, criticizing Afghan government’s functions, formed a coalition under the name of “saving the Afghanistan” with northern Balkh governor Atta Mohammad Noor and second deputy to the Afghan chief executive Mohammad Mohaqiq in Ankara.
