Afghan Forces kill 13 insurgents in 24 hours

Afghan Security Forces in their newest military raid killed at least 13 armed insurgents in past 24 hours, Interior Ministry reported.

Afghan Interior Ministry in a statement released here said the joint operation was conducted by National Police, National Army and National Security Directorate in relevant areas of Faryab, Sar-e-Pul, Jowzjan, Kandahar, Urozgan, Ghazni, Paktika, Paktia, Herat and Helmand provinces.

“Afghan Forces killed at least 13 armed insurgents and arrested one other in past 24 hours,” the statement added.

Interior Ministry furthered that several districts and villages have been cleaned up of the insurgents following the military operations.

The statement of the Interior Ministry adds that the operations against insurgents are still underway.
