Afghan lawmaker escapes after 9 hours in Taliban captivity
Afghan lawmaker Sadeghizada Neli managed to escape Taliban captivity nine hours after he was kidnapped in one of the relatively volatile provinces of Afghanistan close to capital Kabul.

Nasrullah Sadeqizada Neli representing central Daikundi province in the Afghan parliament was abducted from the restive Maidan Wardak province.
Another individual accompanying the lawmaker was also abducted by Taliban militants from Jalrez district.
The lawmaker said Taliban militants took them to unknown location under their control after they were captured while travelling in Jalrez.
Sadeqizada Neli further added that they were in Taliban captivity for a period of at least nine hours and managed to flee, walking for at least eight hours to reach a security post and surrender themselves to Afghan security forces.
Maidan Wardak is among the relatively volatile provinces in Central Afghanistan with its capital city – Maidan Shahr located 35 kilometre from Kabul.
The main highway crossing Jalrez district remains volatile all time where numerous kidnapping cases have been reported by Taliban militants and several civilians have been killed by the militants.
Sadeqizada Neli was on his way to Daikundi province when he was abducted by Taliban militants but he confirmed that he managed to escape and that he was in a good health condition.
The Taliban militants group has not commented regarding the incident so far.
