The pledge came after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan, in a phone call on Wednesday, invited Abdullah to visit Pakistan.
Khan expressed hope that intra-Afghan talks begin soon to end the current conflict in Afghanistan. He said that peace and stability in Afghanistan means peace and stability in Pakistan and it would be beginning of a more effective joint regional cooperation, according to statement from Abdullah’s office.
For his part, Abdullah said that an exceptional opportunity has been created for peace in Afghanistan, which should be seized. He said that reginal consensus and Pakistan’s support was crucial for attaining peace.
Both sides emphasized that reduction of violence could create a conducive environment for intra-Afghan talks.
