At least 17 Daesh fighters killed in airstrike in Nangarhar

According to Ministry of Defense, at least 17 Daesh fighters were killed as a result of several airstrikes carried out jointly by coalition and Afghan air forces in Nangarhar.

The airstrikes which were carried out in Dehbala district of eastern Nangarhar province targeted hideouts of Daesh fighters, said the ministry.

Airstrikes carried out by coalition forces and Afghan Air Forces targeting the loyalists of the terror group in Nangarhar province have been rampant during the recent days.

Nangarhar is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed militant groups including the Daesh terror group are actively operating in a number of its remote districts.

The loyalists of the terror group have recently increased their insurgency activities in Afghanistan and targeted the Pakistani consulate in their latest wave of insurgency activities.
