Bagram military base in Parwan targeted by a massive car bomb

Two car bombs targeted the huge foreign military base in the Bagram district of central Parwan province on Wednesday, an official said.

Abdul Shakor Qudosi, district administrative chief said that the militants attacked the military base through two car bombs at around 5:30am in the morning.

He said the bombers hit the major base with two explosives-packed vehicles enabling other militants to enter the base.

According to district chief, a hospital constructed by Korea and a school are located in the area where the militants struck the car bombs.

Based on initial reports a number civilians reportedly wounded in the homes near the Bagram military base.

Police chief Mahfuz Walizada confirmed the massive bombing and said the bombing followed by gunfire.

NATO media office in Kabul, denied the reports as the militants attacked their convoy. It said a hospital targeted in Bagram.

There has been so far no immediate claim of responsibility for the massive bombing.
