A calligraphy exhibition titled “the manifestation of mercy” was held at Allama Saljughi hall in Herat by the Herat calligraphers` association to mark the holy prophet(PBUH)`s anniversary birthday and week of Islamic unity.
Talking to Raha News Agency in Herat, Mirwali Ahmad Sabry, the Herat calligraphers` association in charge today Monday November 1 2021 said more than 30 calligraphy pictures are being exhibited, the exhibition lasts for 5 days and Herat provincial information and culture office has cooperated with exhibition.
According to him Herat has been home to many famous calligraphers for many years and calligraphy here dates back to long ago.
“Herat has been described as one of the origins of Islamic calligraphy and art and calligraphy especially Islamic calligraphy began in early Islam in Herat.”Mr. Sabry added
Mowlawi Naeim-u-Haq Haqani, the head of Herat provincial information and culture office, also said Islamic Emirate supports cultural activists and youths active in the art and scientific fields.
“Since early Islam calligraphy has had high status and Herat hosts many calligraphers.” Mowlawi Haqani added
He said despite ex-government, the Islamic Emirate to support youths and remarkable figures of art and science has extended plans and programs.
Over the past two months, this is the second calligraphy exhibition is held in Herat.
