Car bomb hits security checkpoint in Maidan Wardak
A car bomb was detonated at a security checkpoint in Syedabad district of Maidan Wardak province early on Thursday morning, said Mohibullah Sharifzoy, a spokesman for the provincial governor.
There are no reports of casualties or other damage yet.
No group has claimed responsibility for the blast.
