Since the Taliban taking over, six local radios and some print media have been closed, Abd-u-l Basir Haqjoo told Raha News Agency
Because of media closure in Badakhshan, at least eighty reporters have lost their jobs and some fled to neighboring countries he added
According to him, some reporters are working voluntarily but there is a big concern about drop of the trend Mr. Haqjo said
Without financial support by Islamic Emirate government, the media will drop more quickly he said
“After Taliban took over, most of print, audio and visual media were closed and reporters lost their jobs.” Ghasemi Nazem, a local reporter, also told Raha News Agency
Being concerned about media`s status, he called for financial support of media by Islamic Emirate and international organizations.
There are strict limitations on news publication and lack of access to information is concerning.
Moezuddin Ahmadi, the Islamic Emirate provincial spokesman, promised to remove all obstacles towards news publication and media activities except financial support from private media.
