Coffee shops banned for women and girls without mahram accompanies in Herat

Sheikh Azizi ur Rahman Al-Mohajer, the head of virtue and vice of Islamic Emirate office in Herat, told Raha press from now on playing music and women and girls without accompanying a Shar `ai  mahram are forbidden.  

“Women and girls without a mahram accompany as well as playing music were banned in all coffee shops in Herat province.

Sheikh Azizi ur Rahman Al-Mohajer, the head of virtue and vice of Islamic Emirate office in Herat, told Raha press from now on playing music and women and girls without accompanying a Shar `ai  mahram are forbidden.  

He said criminals are also not allowed in coffee shops.

According to him, most of insecurities, kidnappings, robberies and destructive actions can be planned in such coffee shops.

“The coffee shops owners are warned if any instruction violations are reported, the will be faced with legal actions.” Sheikh Azizi ur Rahman Al-Mohajer added

He said coffee shops can be kept open till 9:30 pm

 According to him, these coffee shops serve as a convenient place for most of the moral corruptions, something has misled the youths in Herat.

He emphasized any decree on closing all coffee shops in Herat can be issued from Kabul.  

This comes as recently all mannequins are beheaded as they resemble idols, the instruction caused lot of public opposing.
