Death toll rises in Kabul Sunday attack

At least 20 people were killed and 50 injured in a powerful blast followed by a gun battle at vice presidential candidate Amrullah Saleh’s office on Sunday, officials said.

Amrullah Saleh, a running mate of Ashraf Ghani, was slightly injured in the attack. The interior ministry said Afghan forces shot four militants and rescued over 150 civilians during the six-hour-long operation.
“At least 20 killed, including 16 civilians and 50 more injured in the attack,” said Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman for the Interior Ministry.

The terrorist attack was strongly condemned by various entities and Afghan politicians, urging security agencies to provide the security.
