Domestic products need to be paid more attention

Chief Executive Dr. Abdullah Abdullah chaired the economic committee meeting of council of ministers here yesterday at the Sapidar Palace, the statement from CE Press office said.

At the outset, the Craftsmen Union briefed the session on Shoemakers association’s activities, increasing production of  shoes and preparing of 150 shoe-making machines, adding the contract with the association has been ended recently, the statement said, quoting the Chief Executive instructing the organs concerned to extend the contract with the shoemaking association.
The Minister of Transport Yama Yari presented a detailed report to the session on agreement signed between Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, Turkey and Georgia on expansion of trade via Lapiz Lazuli route.
The session discussed importance of the route and challenges ahead of the traders. CE Abdullah instructed the ministry of transport to hold meetings with deputy ministers of ministry of foreign affairs to seek ways for solving of the issues, according to the statement.
The ministry of commerce and industries briefed the session on impacts of air corridors and informed the session of increasing income since 2017.
The chief executive said much attentions should be paid for domestic products and all decisions should be carefully taken to benefit the country.  He also said efforts should be made to prevent exporting of neighboring products under the name of Afghanistan.  “The main aim is to help the domestic products.”
The executive committee for private sector development reported about trade indexes, progress and challenges ahead of trade in the country.
The Chief Executive emphasized on coordination among entities and instructed the ministries of commerce and economy to address the issues of hike of prices for flour and low prices of fruits in the domestic markets, the statement added.
The session also decided to include Women Chamber of Commerce and Industries in Economic Committee meetings of the council of ministers, the statement said.
