Drug traffickers inclusive of guilty government servants go on trial
General Prosecution Director for Criminal Justice Task Force (CJTF), Yar Mohammad Hussainkhel, said that since March 21, 2015, the CJTF has registered 310 drug trafficking cases while arresting 328 smugglers, 32 of whom are government servants.

Speaking at a press conference here he said the smugglers were arrested in Logar, Zabul, Samangan, Kandahar, Helmand, Parwan, Paktia, Uruzgan, Nimroz, Nangarhar, Kunduz, Jawzjan, Herat, Farah, Balkh, Baghlan, Badakhshan, Ghor, Faryab and Kabul provinces.
He said that 32 government servants including cops were also involved in narcotics trafficking.
Two foreign citizens, an army general and eight women are also among the detained smugglers, he said, adding that number of arrests increased by five percent as compared to the same period of last year.
Hussainkhel said that over three tons of heroin, 0.5 tons morphine, 11 tons opium, 21 tons hashish, over three tons precursors and 4,500 liters alcoholic beverages were seized during the crackdowns. Around 204 guns and 73 vehicles were also recovered from smugglers.
