EU stands for dialogue with Taliban government

‘If we want to have some sort of influence on what’s going on, we have nothing else but to contact the Taliban”, he said as quoted by DW.

The offiial marked that Brussels intends to carry on with the humanitarian assitance for the people of Afghanistan, and also to watch the way how the new government rules the country. The EU is especially concerned about protection of human rights and the right for education for women and children.

He also added that the European Union needs to be ready for the wave of refugees from Afghanistan as long as the Taliban let all those willing to leave do so. On the other hand, the EU does not expect just as powerful inflow as it was in 2015, when a lot of people fled Syria.
