Fuel Tanker Fire Leaves 2 dead & Financial Losses in Nangarhar

During a fuel tanker caught fire two people were dead, two others severely injured and dozens of shops have been destroyed on Turkham-Jalalabad highway in the eastern Nangarhar province, said local authorities.

According to Attaullah Khogyani, spokesman of Nangarhar governor, the incident took place earlier this morning, around 6 AM, in Doo Saraka area of Behsod district along the Turkham-Jalalabad highway.

He added that the fuel tanker caught fire after explosion of a magnetic bomb which was attached to the vehicle.

He further noted that that more than thirty shops caught fire after the blast ripped through the oil tanker

Later firefighting authorities of Nangarhar province reported that the fire was restrained at around 7:00 AM local time.

No individual or group including the Taliban and ISIS insurgents has so far claimed responsibility behind the incident.
