Germany donates $350 mn Euros for Afghanistan’s infrastructure in 2016
The German government has pledged to provide 350mn Euros for Afghanistan’s reconstruction in 2016.

The announcement was made by German Foreign Affairs Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Brussels on Tuesday after the NATO foreign ministers meeting.
Stienmeier added that his country would be involved in training, advising and assisting the Afghan National Security and Defense Forces (ANDSF) and institutions under the umbrella of NATO’s Resolute Support Mission.
The meeting concluded with the agreement of the NATO allies to hold alliance troop levels in Afghanistan steady at about 12,000 next year.
“We are in Afghanistan to prevent that Afghanistan again becomes a safe haven for international terrorists … that is also in our security interest to make sure that that doesn’t happen,” NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg said at a meeting of NATO foreign ministers.
NATO wants to announce further funding for the 2018-2020 period at its next leaders summit in July.
