Identities of the hanged insurgents revealed by Afghan officials
The Afghan government on Sunday afternoon released the identities of the six insurgents executed earlier in the day. Among those hanged, four were Taliban members, one was a Haqqani member and one was from al-Qaeda.

The executions, by hanging, took place at the Pul-e-Chakhri prison in Kabul early Sunday morning. This comes after President Ashraf Ghani’s recent declaration, in response to last month’s deadly bombing in Kabul, that he will start executing terrorists on death row. according to Tolo News.
Those executed are as follows:
1- Khan Agha, also known as Abdul Rahman, from al-Qaeda. Rahman was found guilty of the assassination of the deputy chief of the National Directorate of Security (NDS), Abdullah Laghmani, and the attack on Hamidullah, a provincial NDS chief in Laghman. Both officials were killed in the attacks.
2- Hamidullah, a Taliban member, was found guilty of assassinating former chief of the High Peace Council (HPC), Burhanuddin Rabbani.
3- Mohammad Ismail, member of Haqqani network, was involved in the attack on Finest, a supermarket in Wazir Akbar Khan in Kabul, where a number of civilians were killed and injured.
4- Hujjatullah, a member of Taliban, was found guilty of placing a bomb on a bus in Paghman district in Kabul where nine civilians were killed and a number of others were wounded.
5- Mohammad Osman, a Taliban member, was guilty of placing an IED in Khairkot district in Paktika province where seven police force members were killed.
6- Akmal, a Taliban member, was found guilty of an attack on the Daud Khan Military Hospital in Kabul where four security force members were killed and 22 others were wounded.
Some of these attacks date back by up to seven years.
